Centennial Grad Kris Reyes opens Reel World Film Festival

Centennial College graduate and Citytv news reporter Kris Reyes helped launch the 2010 Reel World Film Festival in Toronto.

ReelWorld Film Festival is a five day festival that screens features, shorts, documentaries, animation, music videos from the Aboriginal, Asian, Black, Latino, Middle Eastern, South Asian and other multi-racial communities. This unique Canadian based film festival truly reflects the racially diverse cultures of the World around us.

Canadian film industry mogul visits Centennial College

Centennial College film, TV and new media students will meet legendary film mogul Wayne Clarkson at a special session of master classes on campus.

Niagara College art and design students pitch new brand ideas for Pillitteri Icewine

Pillitteri Estates Winery, the world’s largest estate producer of Icewine, has called upon the expertise of Niagara College’s wine, business, and graphic design students to develop a new brand for its signature product, Icewine.

In March, five student teams pitched their innovative visions for an Icewine brand name that holds global appeal. Each team consists of four students representing the Wine Business Management Graduate Certificate, Graphic Design Production – Art and Design Fundamentals, Business Administration – Marketing and Bachelor of Applied Business and Hospitality Operations Management programs.

SPECIAL REPORT from Haiti: Journalism grad in the front lines

Centennial College graduates are doing outstanding work all over the world. Isa Jeanson, a graduate of the Journalism Fast Track Program , is now a Communications Advisor with Doctors Without Borders (MSF) currently stationed in Haiti and helping with the global relief efforts. Below, is an excerpt  from a Q+A, where she takes a few moments out and answers questions from the front line.

We are already seeing the consequences in the camps of tropical downpours, where camps are turning into mud baths…Some people have tents, many others are still living under plastic sheeting… Neither of these will stand against the fury of hurricanes, or the flooding caused by the rains…It’s a really horrific situation for people living in the camps.”

Centennial College grad's film selected for Hot Docs

Centennial College  graduate, director, celebrity interviewer and TV host George Tsioutsioulas has been selected to screen his new film Furious Pete at the Hot Docs International Canadian Documentary Festival in April 2010. His film, The Story of Furious Pete was named one of the top five to watch by Toronto Life Magazine.

Over the last seventeen years, George Tsioutsioulas has proven to be a versatile figure in the broadcasting field by juggling a television career in front of the camera, as well as one behind the scenes.

He has interviewed hundreds of celebrities, including everyone from Brad Pitt to Britney Spears. He has hosted, produced and created shows for networks such as Omni Television, City TV, Global, W Network, Rogers TV, APTN, High Fidelity HDTV, the Biography Channel and CTV.
