About
The Heads of Media Arts and Design is dedicated to the pursuit of excellence in the training of learners in the area of media art and design. The members recognize the value that the community college system brings to this area of instruction and work to improve this in a ever-changing but vibrant sector of our workforce.
HOMAD is an operating group comprised of Deans and Chairs from across the college system responsible for a diverse grouping of programs, e.g. Multimedia, Broadcasting, Journalism, Graphic Arts, Animation. This committee reports directly the committee comprised of the Vice-Presidents Academic, who in turn report to the committee of Presidents
HOMAD consists of the following cluster groups:
- Foundation/Access
- Arts Programs
- Design Programs
- Broadcasting/Radio/TV
- New Media
- Communications
HOMAD’s primary focus of discussion is centered on the following areas:
- Funding
- Funding Weights
- System wide software and hardware acquisition
- Professional Development
- Articulation
- Space
- Alternative Delivery Patterns
- Applied Degrees
- Technical Issues
- Student learning challenges and accomodation
